About me

I can't say where it came from, but when my girlfriend and I had to decide where to spend our vacation the word "Scotland" appeared in my mind very clearly.
It was 1995, and until then there had been no history between that country and me.
Yes, I had seen a few pictures, but I was far from imagining how Scotland was going to strike my imagination...
Being photography one of my favourite hobbies, it was clear from the beginning that my camera and I were about to have the fullest and most intense sessions of work!
During my first journey to Scotland (August '95) I travelled and shot pictures in the South, briefly in Central Scotland and mostly in the Highlands. Driving one month, always sleeping in campsites or doing sometimes wild camping, my girlfriend Barbara and I fell immediately in love with the land we were visiting.
The wilderness and solitude of the landscapes, together with the friendliness and hospitality of the Scots made me feel I was "at home", but at the same time gave me a sense of mystery, of the "unknown".
Back in Milan, looking at the photos I had developed, I realized they meant more to me than a simple souvenir...
The following summer (1996) Barbara and I didn't have to argue about the destination of our holidays: we drove straight to Scotland, of course, and this time we reached the Orkney Islands. Since I am not a writer it would be frustrating for me trying to describe the magic, the awe and the beauty of these islands.
Again, looking at the pictures I took I felt they could speak for themselves.
At that point, the idea of creating this web site was more than mature.
As I said, I am more at ease with pictures rather than words.
But one thing I can tell you: if you're ready for
- relaxation
- astonishing nature
- nice and friendly people
- great beer
- whisky and seafood...
take a trip to Scotland.... and enjoy it!
