Im from Glasgow and my childhood holidays were spent camping in north west Scotland with ny parents. Gairloch was always part of the journey and I have many fond memories. In addition I will never forget the day we spent on Durness beach in 1976 during a very hot summer. We were the only people there and it seemed the only people in the world….fabuluos. You have put me firmly in mind of revisiting. Thank you for some wonderful photos.
Found your site while “cruising” the internet. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia USA, and one of my dreams after retirement in 2008, was to visit Scotland, a country, for some reason, I have a yearning to visit. I don’t know of a direct connection, although some people in my family claim we have a family heritage there. Anyway, I haven’t made it there, yet, but looking at the pictures on your site has rekindled that desire to visit this beautiful country. Thank you for your site, and who knows, maybe someday we’ll run into each other on the streets of Aberdeen!
Hope to make a trip to Scotland in the next couple years to take in some golf. Have always enjoyed the beauty of the Highlands. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
